When the waves have come and gone is an epic site-specific performance honoring the lives of refugees lost at sea, with music composed and performed by Kinan Azmeh that was performed as part of Little Amal’s 8,000km journey from Turkey to the United Kingdom. This 20 minute ensemble performance created for the beach in Marseille, France, features over 40 local performers including pre-professional and professional dancers, LGBTQ immigrant groups, and community members ages 12+.

“We are delighted to welcome Amal to Marseille. Marseille has always welcomed and watched children come to find refuge here. We will continue to do so. This is the meaning of our history, these are our principles.” Benoit Payan, Mayor of Marseille
