FRESH ON THE HEELS of our European premiere at Theater der Welt in June, we are honored to be featured in a series of publications on dance and performance this month. From videos, to interviews, to reviews, we are thrilled for these opportunities to share our work with audiences beyond the stage. Read on for more insight into our creative process, an interview with Artistic Director Samar Haddad King, exclusive video, photos, and more.
One of the premiere publications for dance in the U.S, Dance Magazine, recently published an online piece which describes our work between Palestine and New York. Beautifully written by Jen Peters, this is definitely worth a read if you’ve ever been curious about how we do what we do. Click here to watch the video created by the magazine (which already has over 19K views since it’s publication on Friday!).
YSDT Artistic Director Samar Haddad King was recently interviewed by Emmaly Wiederholt, Editor of Stance on Dance, an online publication dedicated to expanding conversation beyond studios and theaters to illuminate the hilarities, breadth and impact of dance as a practice. Read the full article to learn more about Samar’s approach to making work in Palestine and beyond.
Theater Development Fund gave us an awesome shout out in their recent article ‘When Seeing Dance is a Poltiical Act‘ by Carolyn Merritt. And if you’re curious about our recent performances at Theater der Welt Festival in Hamburg, Germany — where we had three sold out shows — you can read a review or blog post from the local press (just make sure you translate them to English first). You can also check out our Instagram feed for images from our time at the festival.
